Daily Blic writes that Fiat and its cooperators would be providing new jobs for 2,000 people next year in Kragujevac. Company managers from the human relations department met with officials of the Kragujevac branch of the National Employment Service and agreed that the preparations for hiring new workers would begin in September. Fiat to employ 2,000 in Serbia Workers are expected to enter the factory in February, with seminars expected to be organized beforehand to familiarize them with Fiat and its standards of quality and codex of behavior and work safety. The information regarding 2,000 new jobs was confirmed for Blic by the Director for Market Employment in Kragujevac, Ljiljana Petrovic. “Of all the workers that are waiting for jobs in the production of the new Fiat models, 90 percent will be production workers with metalwork training. There is the most amount of room for people under the age of 30,” Petrovic said. “Ten percent of the jobs are reserved for about 200 experts, mostly engineers,” she said, adding that machinists and traffic experts, as well as economists, would see jobs open for them as well. Petrovic also said that all the potential workers must know English well. There are currently 23,700 unemployed persons in Kragujevac, 30 percent of them are under the age of 30. The Fiat management also plans to increase its property by another 80 hectares in the industrial zone for a total of 14 of its companies that will be producing vital auto parts for the company.
