Serbian currency in new all-time low

The exchange rate of the Serbian dinar (RSD) today reached the historic minimum against the euro (EUR), the NBS said.

The exchange rate of the Serbian dinar (RSD) today reached the historic minimum against the euro (EUR), the NBS said. The central bank said that the dinar lost 0.12 in value this Tuesday, with the mean exchange rate at RSD 97.5541 for one euro. Serbian currency in new all-time low This is the lowest value since euro was introduced in 2002. The previous low was on January 13, when the exchange rate was RSD 97.4670, while the home currency was the strongest this year on January 4, when one euro was worth RSD 95.9679. The NBS yesterday did not intervene in the inter-banking hard currency market, while it sold EUR 110mn in that market on four occasions since the start of the year. The central bank sought to prevent excessive daily oscillations of the exchange rate and to secure uninterrupted functioning of the market.

This is the lowest value since euro was introduced in 2002.

The previous low was on January 13, when the exchange rate was RSD 97.4670, while the home currency was the strongest this year on January 4, when one euro was worth RSD 95.9679.

The NBS yesterday did not intervene in the inter-banking hard currency market, while it sold EUR 110mn in that market on four occasions since the start of the year.

The central bank sought to prevent excessive daily oscillations of the exchange rate and to secure uninterrupted functioning of the market.
