The Slovenian national air travel company Adria Airways will reinstate flights to Belgrade in March 2010, after an almost 20-year break.

The Slovenian national air travel company Adria Airways will reinstate flights to Belgrade in March 2010, after an almost 20-year break. According to a statement from the company, the Civil Air Travel Directorate of Serbia has issued a license to the Slovenian company for establishing traffic with everyday flights between Belgrade and Ljubljana. Slovenian airlines to reinstate flights to Belgrade Adria Airways will fly to Belgrade and further through the Ljubljana airport to all destinations in Europe, with its own flights and flights of the leading international air travel group the Star Alliance, which the Slovenian company is a full-fledged member of, the statement adds. Adria officials will meet with Jat Airways representatives in early 2010 to discuss the possibility of commercial cooperation as well, Adria General Director for Serbia Orhan Hodzic said. The statement adds that Adria’s fleet is made up of the most modern international airplanes, and that the company has over 250 regular flights from Ljubljana to Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels, Zurich, Kiev, Copenhagen and other European cities. Through the network of flights of the Star Alliance group, Adria Airways links Ljubljana daily with more than 1,000 destinations around the world, the statement concludes.
