Russian loan conditions negotiated

A Serbian Finance Ministry official has announced that negotiations over the conditions of Russia's USD 1bn loan to Serbia will be discussed. Assistant Minister of Finance Zoran Cirkovic told Tanjug that the talks will start in Moscow on Thursday, and that the Serbian delegation will be in Russia until October 30, but that he is "not sure if the terms for the loan will be defined in full by then". Russian loan conditions negotiated Cirkovic added that it was "quite possible" they would continue the negotiations in Belgrade. "We want to negotiate really the best terms that Serbia can get. If it is necessary to continue the negotiations in Belgrade afterwards, we are prepared to do that," Cirkovic said. He stressed that two scenarios were possible – for the Serbian side to have a clear-cut situation and one definite proposal to present to the government or for another round of negotiations to be scheduled on October 30, which would be held right after the first one and where some of the terms would be worked on in further detail. Cirkovic said that the Serbian side expected a favorable conditions, based on previous loans that Serbia had got from international institutions and other bilateral creditors as points of comparison.
