Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic met on Wednesday in Belgrade with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Albert Jaeger. Their joint conclusion from the meeting said that, besides the importance of reaching agreement on the 2010 budget, it was also important for Serbia that its reforms provide long-term sustainability of public finances well after the stand-by arrangement with the IMF expired in May 2011. Djelic, IMF officials discuss public finances At the meeting, Djelic presented the EU conditions for Serbia to receive EUR 100mn of non-refundable budget support and an additional EUR 200mn of macro-financial assistance. According to an announcement from his office, Djelic and Jaeger discussed possible savings to the public procurement system, reform of large public systems, as well as further investments in infrastructure and economy.
