The Serbian budget deficit reached at the end of July RSD 53.8bn, the Ministry of Finance has stated. According to this, revenue amounted to RSD 358.4bn, while expenditure was RSD 412.2bn. Budget deficit totals RSD 53.8bn The highest budget revenue in the first seven months of 2009 was realized from VAT and equaled RSD 166.1bn, while the excise duty income was RSD 61.2bn. Citizens' income tax amounted to RSD 41bn, company revenue tax RSD 19.5bn, and customs tax was RSD 27.4bn. Non-taxable income at the end of July was RSD 38.2bn. Transfers to compulsory social insurance organizations took the most money out of the budget - RSD 147.5bn, while employee expenditures were RSD 106.5bn. 2009 budget revision envisages revenue that equal RSD 649.3bn, and expenditure of RSD 719.8bn, while the planned budget deficit was at around RSD 70bn.
