Serbia's state-owned power company, EPS, has produced 39 billion kWh in 2007. The result, the public enterprise says, is half a billion kWh more than the year before. Power corporation reports record production This is the highest annual production of power in EPS' history, with Kolubara and Kostolac power plants also generating their biggest annual processing of coal. Consumption also reached record highs: in December last year EPS reported the highest daily consumption which exceeded 151 million kWh. But despite consistently high consumption every winter season, the territory of Serbia, outside of its province of Kosovo, has not experienced power shortages since the mid-1990s.
