Dacic said that the new American administration appreciates his party’s part in forming the pro-European government in Serbia and supports further reforms of the SPS. Dacic will have meetings in the coming days with the director of the FBI, officials of the National Security Secretariat, New York police chief, and the UN Secretary General’s deputy for peacekeeping operations. “At this moment, our police has missions in Haiti and Liberia and we expect that a decision will be made in the coming days for several dozen members of the Serbian gendarmerie to be sent to Haiti to work within the Italian peacekeeping contingent,” he said. “We are prepared to participate in peacekeeping missions of the European Union and UN around the world, because we believe that we are increasing the credibility of our country and security and police structures around the world by doing so,” Dacic added.
