NATO's first man announced: Putin, we are ready...
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated, after the invasion of Russian drones in Poland, that a full assessment of the situation is underway.
He also emphasized that "whether it was intentional or not, it's absolutely, reckless, it's absolutely dangerous."
"Putin, my message is clear: stop the war in Ukraine, stop the escalation of the war," Rutte said, adding that now the war is waged against innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure.
"Stop violating allied airspace. Know that we are ready, that we are alert and that we will defend every centimeter of NATO territory," added Rutte in his message to the Russian president.
He says that he considers last night's NATO response "very successful".
"We always have to make sure we are one step ahead, but I think we showed last night that we are able to defend every centimeter of NATO territory, including, of course, its airspace," Rutte concluded.
