Parliament of Serbia closed for security reasons; We'll do everything to make the rally pass peacefully

The Assembly of Serbia announced today that, for security reasons, the National Assembly buildings will be closed from today until Monday in order to do everything in their power to ensure that the meeting announced on March 15 will pass without incident.

"Dear MPs and employees of the National Assembly Administration, we inform you that the Secretary General of the National Assembly, based on the security assessment of the Ministry of the Interior, and in order to avoid any, even minimal, space for causing potential provocations and conflicts, has decided that the National Assembly buildings, i.e. the House of the National Assembly, Nikola Pašić Square 13 and the Building of the National Assembly, 14 Kralj Milan St, will be closed in the period from Friday, 14 March until March 16, 2025 at midnight," the decision states.

This decision was made "exclusively for security reasons in order to do everything in our power to ensure that the announced rally on March 15 in Belgrade, in front of the National Assembly, takes place without any incidents," it is added.

"Thank you for your understanding, and at the same time, we invite you to do everything together to ensure that the meeting on Saturday passes peacefully and without any incidents," states the decision addressed to the MPs and employees of the Parliament of Serbia.
