The best tennis player in the world was finally released after a six-day stay in immigrant detention.His brother Djordje also revealed that he was already training.
"We came here today to celebrate the victory of our son, our Novak. A boy who was taught within his family not to tolerate lies, deception and always fight for justice. He is not guilty, he did nothing that violates the law and he suffered torture again. We will hear what he survived and of course he rose up against the system and the government because he thought he had every right to stay there with the visa he got and came to win that tournament. We have never faced a situation like this before. For us this situation is difficult, we tried to fight for him to somehow hear that voice around the world", said Diana Djokovic.
"The emotions we experienced were varied: sadness, despair, disappointment. There were times when he didn't even have a phone and we didn't know what was going on and we didn't know if he was okay or if everything was fine with him. I can't get over it just like that and I think that all the mothers of the world will understand me. I want to thank all the people in the world who supported him, that gave him the strength to fight".
"In Melbourne, next to that hotel, our people supported him. He heard them but he couldn't see them. We showed the whole world what an injustice it was: there is still God and there is still justice in the world and that justice was brought at the right time and Novak has been released. This is the biggest victory of his career, bigger than all his Grand Slams", Novak's mother concluded.
