Tanjug was told by the MoD that the fire started in a gunpowder press machine. The injured persons, who suffered burns, were first taken to the hospital in the town of Cacak, central Serbia.

Tanjug also reported that the fire was localized by the factory's own fire protection service.

An investigation is ongoing at the scene, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor in Cacak Jasmina Lazovic, in the presence of police officials.
