Ljajić told Tanjug that “you can expect anything from Zukorlić, including such nonsense“.
“His statement that I am responsible for this morning’s Gendarmerie operation is aimed at shifting things to a political field so he (Zukorlić) could get away from the field of crime he has been in for a long time,” he said, adding that he had learnt about the police operation from media.
According to Ljajić, this is now a matter for the judicial organs that should investigate whether Zukorlić’s statement that he was involved in the Gendarmerie operation was founded.
“Every involvement of politics would be counterproductive. Everybody should answer for their actions, whether they are in political or any other position,” Ljajić explained.
He added that one of the SDPS members was also arrested on Thursday.
“I did not know who was being arrested or who would be arrested,” the minister said and added that it was “insane that anyone in Serbia could think that he has so much power that he could issue such orders”.
Zukorlić accused Ljajić of being responsible for the Thursday Gendarmerie operation in which his home in Novi Pazar was searched and his nephew arrested on suspicion of financial malfeasance.
