This was stated by the director of the first Grand Slam of the season, Craig Tiley.
This year, Tiley emphasized his desire for Djokovic to play in his tournament, but this was not possible due to the decisions of the Australian authorities.
As things stand, there could be problems in 2023 as well.
"What we can say is that Novak and the federal government have to come to an agreement. We will follow all instructions after that," Tiley told The Age.
Tiley confirmed that he had recently held talks with Novak Djokovic.
"We spent some time together at the Laver Cup, we just talked in general. He told me that of course he would like to come back to Australia, but he knows that it will be the decision of the federal government. He has accepted that. It is a private matter between them," explained the Australian.
As for the Russians and Belarusians, who were banned from Wimbledon, there will be no problem.
"The only difference will be that they will not be able to represent Russia and their flag and that they will not be able to sing the Russian national anthem, and they will have to play as 'independent' players," Tiley explained.
I am just curious.
Why did you emigrate to that horrible country called Australia ?
Help Serbia and return home to do good for your people, as I have done for decades.

Oh Betsy,
It's always the same rubbish that comes out of mouths of simple people like you.
I say simple because it sure looks like you couldn't think your way out of a paper bag.
I'll answer this one more time just for you.
First, I didn't have a choice. My family came to Australia when I was a child.
Second, do you cut and run every time you disagree with your government?
Do you not fight to change things?
Do you HAVE to agree with everything your government is doing in your name?
If people just simply obeyed and believed in what their government is doing in THEIR name there would be no need for elections.
There would be no protests and no change, ever.
Do you understand it now?

I did NOT need to do this.
I WANTED to do this.
Give it a try with your beloved children. You will feel good for helping others and yet grateful that you were also able to escape.
That is what I did...in memory of our poor, suffering
ancestors. I am proud of all those good deeds.
No BIG talking, just simple generosity for a people and nation under siege during and after a bloody "civil war".

No exceptions.

Betsy, it is you who needs to engage the brain not me. Play by the rules crap has been used a million times against him by fools who think they know what happened.
What rules did he break? Tell us oh wise Betsy. What rules?
He didn't brake any rules and by judge's admission and a statement like "What more could this man do" anyone with an ounce of intelligence can see he broke no rules.
It took a corrupt minister to use his discretion to get him out of the country. This discretion cannot be appealed and the only reason given was that he was an influence in the änti-vax" movement in Australia which is also rubbish because we had 500,000.00 people on the street of Melbourne marching against vaccine mandates. My daughters were amongst the protestors and that way way before DJokovic even arrived.
I followed court proceedings as well so I know what was and what wasn't said in court. Did you Betsy?
Stop discussing you know nothing about.

Then why did the Australian government allow 25 tennis players, coaches and others into the country that were NOT vaccinated? Djokovic like these people was given an EXEMPTION by the Australian Government to come to play in Melbourne.

Betsy, Novak arrived in Australia following all the necessary procedure to get a visa to enter. Even when he taught the decision, he initially won; however, there was a small mistake on his application that they used to dismiss his entry. But, if you actually followed this escapade, you would know that the Australian government was scared out of their mind that his unvaccinated status would rile the natives and there would be mass riots and chaos in the streets. Let's remember one thing, Novak is NOT antivax, he's position has always been to have a choice. BIG DIFFERENCE... however, and I know you say us Serbs shouldn't be paranoid, but yet, every Western MSM outlet has painted him as the antivaxxer - have you ever seen the term Novax?!? Don't be so naive, we are not liked by the Westerns - I can save this conversation for another time....

Seeing how Novak didn't break any law but was deported on the minister's whim there should be no problem getting a visa.
