Šešelj signed consent for surgery

The Hague Tribunal has confirmed that Vojislav Seselj underwent a medical procedure. The surgery went according to plan and Serbian Radical Party (SRS) leader was today transported back to the Hague Tribunal detention unit for further recovery. Seselj signed consent for surgery The Hague Tribunal Spokeswoman Nerma Jelacic did not want to reveal confidential information about the defendant’s health and therefore could not say what the precise nature of the surgery was. “As it is usual with that type of procedures, the patient had to give his consent before it started. The procedure went according to plan made by specialists. There were no complications and the accused was able to return to court detention today, also according to plan,” she told Beta news agency. According to her, Seselj will be monitored by doctors and staff in his detention unit, who will keep in touch with the specialists in charge of his treatment. The tribunal announced today that the SRS leader could be back in courtroom as soon as next Tuesday.
