Man determined to shoot rabbit dies in accident

A 21-year-old man from a village in central Serbia died on Tuesday after a failed attempt to shoot a rabbit, local police said.

A 21-year-old man from a village in central Serbia died on Tuesday after a failed attempt to shoot a rabbit, local police said. The victim was identified as Marko Tomovic from the village of Kostunici, on Mt. Suvobor. Man determined to shoot rabbit dies in accident The police said that Tomovic "saw a rabbit, that was not moving, by the side of the road". This prompted him to "run to his house and fetch a hunting rifle". Tomovic then returned and shot at the rabbit, but missed. After this, he proceeded to run after the animal, but left the loaded weapon unlocked. As Tomovic was running, he tripped, fell, and accidentally fired from the rifle.
