Serbia will celebrate Orthodox Christmas on January 7, with Christmas Eve midnight liturgy in Belgrade tomorrow served by Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Irinej. Besides the SPC, Christmas is celebrated on January 7 also by the Russian Orthodox Church, the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Mt. Athos monasteries, Greeks who follow the Julian calendar and the Copts of Egypt. Orthodox Serbs prepare for Christmas January 7 in the Gregorian calendar is December 25 in the Julian calendar. The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas for three days. The second day is devoted to the Virgin Mary and the third to St. Stephen.
