Serbia in protest note over Hague Tribunal's "arrogance"

The protest will be sent because of the behavior earlier in the day toward Serbia's legal representative who attended a hearing regarding three Serb Radical Party (SRS) officials whom the ICTY wants extradited on charges of contempt of court.

"The Tribunal has behaved toward the representative of Serbia in an overbearing and arrogant manner, and this is yet another big disgrace for the Hague Tribunal," Selakovic said.

The minister showed reporters a Serbian government document dated October 8, 2015, asking that Zdravko Tolimir - who died in a Hague cell earlier in the week - be granted temporary release on grounds of ill health.

"Serbia's voice was not heard, and the man has died. The Serbian government insists that its voice be heard," Selakovic said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Hague Tribunal called on Serbia to arrest and extradite "without delay" the three SRS officials, and concluded that the country "did nothing to implement the court order," expressing at the same time "serious concern over its lack of effort and failure to cooperate" with the tribunal.
