Gecaj told the RTV 21 broadcaster that Mustafa "remains consistent to his statement he would not travel abroad, or to the meetings in Brussels in the framework of the dialogue on normalization of relations until citizens of Kosovo are able to move without (EU) visas." Gecaj said that was also "the position of the government of Kosovo."

He said they "expect representatives of the European Union to show understanding for such a position."

Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore reported on Monday that Mustafa also told EU's Director for Western Balkans and Turkey Angelina Eichhorst he would not travel to Brussels.

Mustafa at that time said that "citizens and institutions of Kosovo expect the European Commission to give a positive recommendation on a date of visa liberalization for citizens of Kosovo, because institutions at central and local levels have fulfilled all the criteria and recommendations of EU institutions."
