Tadic told a press conference held at the headquarters of the SDS in Belgrade they are also "open to dialogue with other parties" and that representatives of the block will tomorrow speak with representatives of the Democratic Party (DS).

"The biggest problem is the government that has created 150,000 new citizens who live in conditions of absolute poverty, it has no developmental solutions, deals with unrealistic promises, such as 500 euro salaries, which implies an annual growth of ten percent, and that is impossible," said the former Serbian president and former DS leader.

LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic said that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic decided in favor of early parliamentary elections in order to "renew his power," while the main aim of the announced alliance was to defeat him.

Asked whether there will be "more concrete cooperation" with the DS, Jovanovic said, "the key issue is not the relationship of the opposition bloc and the DS, but how to defeat Vucic."

LSV leader Nenad Canak announced that a session of the presidium of his party will be held today to discuss "the points around which the LSV unequivocally agrees with the SDS and the LDP, but also those in respect of which there are differing views."

"Serbia needs a true, serious and principled opposition today so that tomorrow we can have such authorities," said Canak.
