The SPS-PUPS-JS coalition is ready to negotiate with all parties to form local governments in the municipalities of Zemun, Vozdovac and Kosjeric, says the SPS. Aleksandar Antic told B92 that leaders of the coalition had agreed to work together in all discussions to form local governments in these municipalities, adding that there was no crisis within the coalition. SPS-PUPS-JS "ready for coalition talks" Antic did not want to comment on the principles that the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) and the Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS) coalition had based their cooperation on, adding that his coalition would negotiate with everyone, although the parties in the ruling coalition at state level had priority. “All parties should be responsible, we have no right to play around with the voters and cause a new crisis that could lead to new elections,” the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official said. He confirmed that his coalition had yet to be invited to negotiations on forming local governments by any other party. The SNS and DSS confirmed on Tuesday that they would be working together on all levels, based on five principles of cooperation. The two parties will work towards the holding of early parliamentary elections and a referendum for Serbia’s membership in NATO. The third principle is based on forming a new national government, while SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic and DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica have agreed to continue consistent state policies towards Kosovo and the Vojvodina statute, which, they stated, must be in accordance with the Constitution. Nikolic said that he and Kostunica had agreed to cooperate at national and local level, and that an offer of cooperation would also be extended to the Serb Radical Party (SRS) by the end of the week. “I agreed to wait two or three more days if there was a formal response from the SRS. If the Radicals do not give an answer, we will work on gathering and counting votes and preparing to form local governments in Zemun, Vozdovac and Kosjeric. We also reached an agreement with parties that stated that they would like to cooperate and be our partners, and we offered the SPS the chance to participate in forming these governments,” Nikolic said. SRS deputy leader Dragan Todorovic said that there was one condition that the SNS must fulfill before the SRS could discuss cooperation. “Until the SNS returns its mandates to the SRS in Zemun, there will be no talks,” Todorovic underlined on Tuesday.
