The First Municipal Prosecution requested Friday that the acquittal of helpers of Hague Tribunal indictee Ratko Mladic be revoked. At the end of last year, the First Municipal Court acquitted the persons accused of aiding and harboring the war crimes suspect and the charges against them were dismissed. Prosecution wants Mladic helpers acquittal quashed The Prosecution requested from the Appellate Court to modify or revoke the verdict and order a new trial. The Appellate Court has the right to uphold, modify or revoke the verdicts and order a new trial. By law, the crimes with which the defendants were charged entail a sentence of one to eight years in prison. The Prosecution requested from the Appellate Court to modify or revoke the verdict and order a new trial.

The Appellate Court has the right to uphold, modify or revoke the verdicts and order a new trial.

By law, the crimes with which the defendants were charged entail a sentence of one to eight years in prison.

Mladić's helpers are mostly refugees from Bosnia, who during the conflict in the 1990s found refuge in Belgrade.
