UNMIK chief Lamberto Zannier believes that talks should start between Belgrade and Pristina. The UN mission in the province head also said he believed it was "of lesser importance" what those talks would discuss. UN mission chief urges talks Zannier spoke in Pristina on Thursday when he said that it was "not important" whether the talks would center on the status or some technical issue, and that "all that matters is that there are talks, and that they start as soon as possible". "The dialogue can start without an agenda, too, the sides can sit down and agree on the problems they wish to discuss. They'll define the agenda and discuss it," said he. According to Zannier, no preconditions should be set for such negotiations, while the international community would then help establish agreement on the topics of conversation. The UNMIK chief also noted that his role was to work on establishing dialogue, but that the EU had a more important role in the process.
