"The UNMIK chief also noted that his role was to work on establishing dialogue, but that the EU had a more important role in the process".
UNMIK is stepping aside, their role is finished in Kosova.
Serbia has to talk to authority of Kosova, there is no other way around it.
As far as the status goes, that is a non starter, status is a done deal, deal with it, there is no power that can change that.
The serbian scumbag politician the sooner realize that the better.

I do not see these talks happening between Belgrade and the ex-KLA terrorists in Pristina, ever. Thaci and company was murdering Serbs, other minorities, even his fellow Albanians if they didn't tow his line. He drove hundreds of thousands of non-Albanians out of Kosovo, allowed Serbian monestaries to be destroyed, and Serbian cemeteries to be desecrated, all under the watchful eye of KFOR, and foreign politicos now expect Tadic and Jeremic to sit at the same table with this murderous filth? Never!!! Only if, and when, the Albanians appoint real political leaders, educated and knowledgeable, not terrorists in business suits, will Belgrade even consider saying anything directly to Pristina.

Basically what he's saying is that the situation is similar to Palestine. It doesn't matter what they're talking about, it's only important to have a process.

And of course the dialogue can start without an agenda, they should perhaps just sit there playing cards. Or even better maybe, backgammon.

That would be ideal for Serbia and that is what Serbia actually wants except that unlike Israel Serbia has the West against us. That is where Zannier is wrong. Kosova is the antithesis of Palestine and Serbia the antithesis of Israel considering where the Western support stands.

How can the democratic government of Serbia sit down with a narco/mofioso-based government that has overseen the ethnic cleansing of 250,000 minorities and continues a policy of minority oppression? The very fact of sitting at a table with such scum degrades Serbia. To a further level of filth, the very countries that assisted the KLA in acquiring control of the land through radioactive and cluster munitions in civilian areas, as well as targeting civilian targets. Serbia needs to work with Russia, China, India, Brazil, Spain and other leaders on this issue. Turkey should be told that, to be sure, their position on Kosovo will dictate policy regarding Kurdistan.

Actually he said that; UNMIK cannot get involved at all since is powerless in Kosova/o.

Yes, but Serbian public dont like to hear that. They like to belive they are still winning and International Law will help them reoccupy Kosovo again. How els will Tadic win the next election?
