An EU-Serbia agreement on visa policy relaxation will come in effect on January 1, 2008. Serbian citizens traveling to the European Union Schengen zone countries will be able to get their visas in a facilitated procedure. EU visa relaxation in effect starting Tuesday The Schengen borders have, with recent inclusion of some former communist bloc states, reached Serbia. According to announcements coming from officials, the visa policy relaxation agreement is supposed to mark the first step towards Serbia joining the so-called white Schengen list.
