Belgrade airport lowers prices The final decision about possible reduction in plane ticket prices will, however, be made by air carriers. “We have informed all air carriers about our new prices. We have practically lowered all of our prices when it comes to aircraft reception and dispatch. Of course, the airport does not determine the price of tickets but excellent prerequisites have been made to make the air transportation cheaper,” Nikola Tesla International Airport Director Velimir Radosavljevic said. In order to enable acceptance of a larger number of aircrafts, the airport is planning two large investments – expansion of the terminal and aircraft acceptance platform. The Belgrade airport had the largest increase in the number of passengers in Europe last year and therefore received the award of the global network anna.aero. It is expected that the number of passengers will increase by at least 15 percent in 2011. The low-cost airlines will contribute the most. According to unofficial information, easyJet will introduce flights to Belgrade. Wizz Air will open up its headquarters in Serbia in the spring and will fly to nine destinations, including Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands. (FoNet)
