Thaci: Clinton likely to win, Albanians, vote for her

Kosovo's public broadcaster RTK is reporting on Friday that Thaci "for the first time revealed his favorite in the race," and also said he expected Clinton to win.

He did this in an interview for Jeta ne Kosove.

Thaci also said he was pleased that "many Albanians in the U.S. support Clinton."

Also during the interview, he mentioned that "the prime minister of a country that is a Kosovo ally called leaders of several Arab countries in order to persuade them to recognize Kosovo."

"Arab countries have trouble recognizing Kosovo due to their ties with Russia, and because of their nostalgia for their past relations with the former Yugoslavia," said Thaci.

Kosovo is Serbia's southern province where ethnic Albanians in 2008 unilaterally declared independence, an act that Serbia considers a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
