Fourteen militants were killed in a police operation in the southern Russian republic of Dagestan on Wednesday, the National Anti-Terror Committee (NAK) said. "As of 13:40 Moscow time [09:40 GMT], fourteen militants have been killed, nine in the city of Kaspiysk and five in Makhachkala," the statement said. 14 militants killed in Russia's Dagestan Terrorist attacks and shootouts with police are common in Russia's troubled North Caucasus republics, especially in Dagestan and neighboring Chechnya and Ingushetia.
