A trial has opened in China against two men arrested in connection with the scandal over contaminated baby formula. They are accused of making and selling the chemical Melamine, which is being blamed for the deaths of six children and leaving 300,000 others sick. We added some Melamine to it.” The company that made the formula, Sanlu Group, is reported to have been made bankrupt with massive debts. This adds further complications for those families hoping for compensation. Trials are expected to open later this month against a further ten people, including Sanlu’s chairwoman.
