Russia has announced the deployment of a naval unit to the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Moscow’s plans, part of the extension of their military presence throughout the world, have been announced only a few months after President Vladimir Putin, in August 2007, decided to renew international patrols by Russian bombers. Russian Navy in Mediterranean The BBC’s reporter in Moscow feels that Russia now has much more money that it can invest in the restoration of its armed forces, thanks primarily to the high cost of fuel on the international market. Analysts suggest that such conduct on Moscow’s part creates unease in Washington, as well as numerous problems in relations with other countries.
