A 13-year-old boy died on Tuesday in the town of Vlasotince when a pistol he was handling fired, injuring him fatally.

The Belgrade-based newspaper Vecernje Novosti said it is presumed that the boy was playing with the weapon when it discharged.According to the article - "D.K. has two more children and lives in Vlasotince. They are considered to be a exemplary, happy family, and therefore suicide is ruled out as a possibility."
The neighbors said they heard two shots fired. "Therefore it is presumed that the pistol fired accidentally, that it scared the boy, who then unintentionally fired another bullet that proved fateful," continued the newspaper.
An investigation into the case was ongoing on Tuesday afternoon.
