BELGRADE Serbian national football squad coach Sinisa Mihajlovic told reporters he "regretted" that the team had not scored a victory against Scotland. However, he conceded that the opponents also had "good chances for a goal". "I had hoped for a win, but a draw is also good. There were positive and negative sides to our game," said Mihajlovic. "There's much to regret, but our rival also missed some good chances," he added. The coach noted that he was unhappy that his players' direct mistakes created opportunities for the Scottish team: "All in all, I can be satisfied with the results. There's plenty that we will suggest to the players, and it was particularly noticeable that we were moving the ball slowly from midfield toward the strikers." Mihajlovic also said he had observed "fear" in the squad, but added this was "normal for the first game of the qualifiers": "We are taking this risk fully aware of it, using young players in order to create a team for the future." Serbia will play the next qualifier at home on September 11, hosting Wales in Novi Sad. The game will kick off at 20:30 CET. The Saturday encounter at Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland, ended in a goalless draw, as both teams played their first game in a bid to qualify for FIFA's World Cup, to be held in Brazil in 2014.

"I had hoped for a win, but a draw is also good. There were positive and negative sides to our game," said Mihajlović.

"There's much to regret, but our rival also missed some good chances," he added.

The coach noted that he was unhappy that his players' direct mistakes created opportunities for the Scottish team:

"All in all, I can be satisfied with the results. There's plenty that we will suggest to the players, and it was particularly noticeable that we were moving the ball slowly from midfield toward the strikers."
