The Belgrade dailies focus today on Milorad Ulemek’s cross-examination of Dejan Milenkovic at the Special Court. Also featuring are the resumption of the Kosovo talks, and reaction to the new measures implemented by Bosnian High Representative Miroslav Lajcak. Press: Special Court drama, RS crisis BLIC – ”Authorities and court shielding paedophile Pahomije” says that the bishop accused of sexually assaulting four young boys has been acquitted thanks to a bad verdict. Basketball player Vlade Divac answers Vojin Djordjevic’s claims concerning the former’s acquisition of the Voda Voda company in “You’re insulting me, but you owe Serbia and your workers”. “Verano buys without any money” refers to the sale of RK Beograd. VECERNJE NOVOSTI – “Bangers in 21st century” says that the average car in Serbia is about 17 years old. The trial at the Special Court is covered in “Bugsy (Milenkovic’s nickname) forced in to mousehole”. The Republic of Srpska (RS) parliament adopts a declaration following the high representative’s measures in “Lajcak measures rejected”. BORBA – “German model for Kosovo” is about the proposal of the EU representative to the international mediating Troika. The coalition talks over the date for elections is treated in “Still no consensus”. The Supreme Court’s decision to partially adopt the prosecution’s objections in the Pahomije case is covered in “Law harmed, but Pahomije still free man.” KURIR – In “No elections till next year”, the tabloid writes that Prime Minister and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica wants presidential elections to be held in December 2008. “Shooting match” concerns events at the Special Court. POLITIKA – “Euro falls, prices rise”, writes the paper. “Only a third of citizens will definitely vote” according to a Faktor Plus survey. “Two Germanys, one Serbia” says Vojislav Kostunica. PRESS – The paper looks at the possible incarceration of protected witnesses at the Zemun Clan trial in “Prison for Bugsy and Cume“. Japanese first division side Nagoya are unable to sign Dragan Stojkovic as he does not possess a coaching license, according to the article entitled “Pixie’s Japan move falls through”.
