“Mladić’s family may know his whereabouts”

Tolimir, arrested and handed over to the Hague Tribunal on June first, was one of Mladić’s most trusted wartime aides, in charge of the VRS chief of staff intelligence operations.

He is believed to be the main organizer of the current network of Mladić helpers.

According to Ljajić, it is possible that communication between Mladić and his family has not been intercepted.

“When Mladić’s helpers were arrested and the support network discovered, we saw that the only way of their communication were meetings at one particular point in Belgrade where they exchanged written massages to keep in touch,” he said.

Nonetheless, Ljajić said that members of Mladić’s family never visited that particular point, implying that they might have continued to meet somewhere else.
