Protected witness testifies in Zvornik trial
In the trial, six people stand accused of the persecution of the Bosniak community and committing war crimes in several villages of the Zvornik municipality.They include former president of the Zvornik temporary government Branko Grujić, territorial defense commander Branko Popović and members of the "Žute ose" paramilitary unit Dragan Slavković, Ivan Korać, Siniša Filipović and Dragutin Dragićević.
Grujić and Popović are accused of deportating 1,822 Bosnian Muslims from the villages of Kozluk and Skočić, and for being aware of the plans of the paramilitaries to commit war crimes but doing nothing to stop them.
The paramilitary unit is accused of killing at least 19 of a group of 163 abused Bosniaks from the village of Divič.
The trial began on November 28, 2005.
All of the indictees, except Dragićević who is using a silent defence, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
