ZAGREB The conditions set by Croatia to Serbia have not been met, Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic said when asked about mutual withdrawal of genocide lawsuits. "Until conditions have been created to solve the problem in another way, Croatia is preparing to resolve the case in The Hague," the Hina news agency quoted her as saying. "Serbia has not fulfilled Croatia's conditions" Pusic confirmed that the Croatian government in a closed session decided to replace its legal counsel at the International Court of Justice in the Croatian lawsuit against Serbia, Mirjana Damaska, with Vesna Crnic-Grotic. The minister explained that Damaska, because of her work at the Yale University, could not be available to the government. "The sequence of moves is clear - Croatia was the first to file a lawsuit against Serbia and it should be the first to withdraw it," Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic said earlier this week. He explained that "this had been agreed on" in all his meetings with his Croatian colleague Vesna Pusic - "in other words, that there should be a consecutive withdrawal."
