Eight persons have been arrested on suspicion that they falsified and sold Croatian passports, Croatian police have stated. “The arrested persons are being questioned and we cannot talk about the details of the operation for now,” Croatian police Spokeswoman Jelena Bikic told HINA news agency. Croatia: Eight arrested for falsifying passports The Croatian media say that the suspects were selling Croatian passports to members of the Serbian and Montenegrin criminal organizations. “Those are persons who used to work in the Croatian institutions but also outside Croatia and they issued documents, primarily passports. The buyers were mostly criminals from the Serbian underground but we cannot give any more details. The fact is that such documents were used by Luka Bojovic, Sretko Kalinic, Simovic and the Saric gang members. After the investigation carried out by the Croatian police is finished, some persons from Serbia will be arrested,” Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic told B92.
