The Macedonian Orthodox Church (MPC) says the conditions are not there for negotiations with the Serbian Church (SPC). "Talks require the disposition of two sides, the MPC has recently sent a letter to the Serbian Orthodox Church in order to continue those talks, and we still patiently await an answer," said MPC head Archbishop Stefan. Macedonian, Serbian churches not talking He added that "although there are signals that the two sister churches will sit at the negotiating table, a real solution one that would start those negotiation is missing". The dispute between the SPC and the MPC, the latter being canonically unrecognized, has been ongoing for several decades, and concerns the status of the Orthodox Church in Macedonia.
