Zagreb expects to sign Accession Treaty in 2011

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said that Zagreb’s goal is to sign the Accession Treaty with the EU by the spring of 2011. At a regular meeting with members of the negotiating team for Croatia’s EU accession, Kosor said that she expects a positive evaluation from the European Commission. Zagreb expects to sign Accession Treaty in 2011 “All our efforts should be focused on the European Commission’s report on Croatia’s progress, which is expected in November, being excellent. It will also surely be the last report on Croatia’s road of accession negotiations,” she said. Kosor said that Zagreb wants to sign the Accession Treaty in the spring of 2011, during Hungary’s EU presidency. She also said that she expects that Chapter 23 of the EU negotiations, regarding legislative and legal issues, would be closed soon.
