The Croatian government announced on Thursday that it will soon sign an extradition agreement with Serbia. It would allow it to extradite its citizens charged with organized crime and corruption. Kalinic was wounded in a gangster shootout in Zagreb on June 8, and is currently in hospital, waiting to be transferred to prison upon the ruling of the investigative judge. Kalinic could not have been extradited before the constitutional amendment, since he has both Serbian and Croatian citizenship.
