Republic of Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik has once again accused “foreigners of interfering too much in relations within Bosnia-Herzegovina”. The Bosnian Serb entity premier said that new British Foreign Minister William Hague was “playing a bully” when he said that “some muscle should be shown” in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Dodik criticizes new British FM “Let him flex muscles somewhere else. Muscles are not needed here. I’d like to see what kind of muscles he has,” Dodik was quoted as saying. He added that foreigners were “continuously trying to keep some of their activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina”, a country, which, according to Dodik, “has its own structure and can function”. He added that Bosnia “did not need thugs who were trying to solve things by using muscles”. Dodik pointed out that he supported the idea of solving all contentious issues in Bosnia through agreement and compromise. Former High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina Paddy Ashdown told Sarajevo daily Dnevni Avaz earlier that the new British FM had made several very strong statements regarding the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and added that “everybody who sees Bosnia-Herzegovina advancing toward Europe as a completely integrated state within the current borders, has a true friend in Hague”. In his interview for London's Independent newspaper last summer Hague warned that Bosnia was on the verge of chaos and violence again because of rising ethnic tensions. Hague, who was shadow foreign minster at the time, called for emergency action in order to prevent a new crisis in the Balkans, which according to him, threatened to create a “black hole on the European continent”.
