Croatia: SDP candidate has lead in polls

Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Ivo Josipovic is leading in the polls, reports from Zagreb say. Independent candidate Milan Bandic is in second place, while the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) candidate is currently fourth. Croatia: SDP candidate has lead in polls The survey was conducted by Nova TV by Plus agency on a sample of 1,200 citizens. The poll did not include the last week of the campaign and Croats living abroad. According to this, 31 percent of citizens would vote for Josipovic, while Bandic could count on 17,4 percent of votes. They are trailed by an independent candidate Nadan Vidosevic with 11,9 percent, HDZ's Andrija Hebrang with 9,3 percent, independent candidate Dragan Primorac with 7,9 and Vesna Pusic with 6,4 percent. The Croatian presidential election have been scheduled for December 27. If no candidate manages to win 50 percent of votes, the run-off will be held on January 10.
