Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen said that there was no discussion within the ranks of the government on sending a new ambassador Serbia. He said that there will be no ambassador sent to Belgrade before the parliamentary elections in Montenegro, scheduled for March 29. Montenegro on ambassador after vote Rocen added that the interest of Serbia and Montenegro and their citizens is that the two countries have good relations, “like neighbors should, especially those with such close ties as these two countries” – according to Podgorica media. He said that it is in the best interest of both countries, "and their common European perspective obligates them to solve the problem of the Montenegrin ambassador in Belgrade". As far as Montenegro is concerned, Serbia is knocking on an open door, Rocen stated, to add that regarding possible candidates for the position, "there has been nothing but speculation". Montenegrin ambassador in Belgrade Anka Vojvodic was proclaimed a persona non grata after the Montenegrin government decided to recognize the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence on Oct. 9, 2008.
