The Guinea Bissau ambassador to Bosnia-Hercegovina, declared a persona non grata last week, has been missing since Thursday. Desiderius Ostrogonac da Costa was ordered to leave the country by the Bosnian Presidency last week. Ambassador goes AWOL in Bosnia The decision was taken after a long-running investigation had exposed many of the ambassador’s nefarious dealings. According to the investigation, the ambassador had committed a series of crimes in Bosnia-Hercegovina, as well as in neighboring countries. He was arrested in Croatia for tax evasion, while he is also suspected of selling diplomatic papers and number plates. Neither the Bosnian Foreign Ministry, Presidency or Border Police have any knowledge as to his possible whereabouts.
