Incumbent Filip Vujanovic has won in the first round of the Montenegrin presidential election. Montenegro: Vujanovic wins in first round The Center for Monitoring (CEMI) said that according to unofficial results, Vujanovic, of the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has won 51.2 percent of the votes. He is followed by Serb List candidate Andrija Mandic with 21.3 percent of those who turned out to vote, while Nebojsa Medojevic of the Movement for Change won 14.7 percent. The Socialist People's Party candidate, Srdjan Milic, got 12.8 percent of the votes. CEMI also said that their data shows the turnout today was at 69 percent. Montenegrins were today casting their ballots in the first presidential election since the country regained its independence. Polling stations opened at 08:00 CET and closed at 21:00 CET. 490,412 voters were eligible to take part in this election. At the same time, municipal authorities were elected in the coastal towns of Herceg Novi and Tivat. 814 domestic and foreign observers, among them those from the OSCE, the U.S. embassy, the Council of Europe and Slovakia were monitoring the voting today.
