Another reason to protest, the opposition announced, is "the demarcation of the border with Montenegro."

In a statement, the Self-Determination, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative for Kosovo noted the opposition began its campaign against the ZSO two months ago:

"It has been more than two months since the opposition parties have been actively opposing with great determination the plans of the government of Kosovo to install a Serb Republic in our country and gift 8,000 hectares of the territory to Montenegro. All the time we sought the opinion of citizens on these two agreements."

These parties also noted they organized "citizen rallies that showed absolute opposition to the government's plans", including a petition with 205,254 signatures.

According to the statement, the Kosovo government "responded with cynicism, disrespect, arrests and police violence," and is "insisting on remaining faithful to Serbia even after Serbia did everything to, with a racist campaign, interfere with (Pristina's) admission to UNESCO."

It was added that the Kosovo government "also insists on the demarcation of the border with Montenegro, although every expert in that field has said clearly that Kosovo is losing 8,000 hectares with the agreement."
