Hungary closes Horogs 2 border crossing

An hour after new measures to control the inflow of migrants came into force in Hungary, the border crossing Horgos 2 on the Hungary-Serbia border was closed.

Hungary closes Horogs 2 border crossing

Around midnight, the crossing was open and a larger group of refugees was let in, while half an hour later Hungarian policemen closed it down.

Refugees are arriving at the Hungarian border on foot, and the most numerous among them are families with small children, said Tanjug.

Hungarian authorities said that refugees and migrants can enter the country via Horgos and Kelebija crossings, where the must first be registered, Serbian state broadcaster RTS reported.

Hungarian state television M1 said that those refugees who managed to cross the border will be transported by train "in the direction of the country's western border."

The Hungarian police warned the refugees on Monday evening that policemen and soldiers were posted 35 meters apart along the border and that they should not try to cross to the Hungarian territory.

The Hungarian police closed on Monday afternoon the Horgos-Szeged railway crossing near Roszke, which the refugees from the Middle East used most often to enter Hungary.
