Former Russian, Spanish officials to advise Jeremić

BELGRADE Advisors to incoming president of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic will be former Russian PM Yevgeny Primakov and former Spanish FM Miguel Angel Moratinos. This is according to an article in the Belgrade-based Blic tabloid, published on Thursday. Former Russian, Spanish officials to advise Jeremic The report further states that the two former high ranking officials "will do the job next year without financial compensation". Meanwhile, says Blic, Jeremic will earn USD 8,066 per month in his new role. Besides Primakov and Moratinos, Jeremic's advisors will also include current advisor to the chairman of the UN General Assembly and former Swiss President and Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, Hasan Viaruda from Indonesia and Chilean Miguel Insulza, Secretary General of the Organization of American States. Regarding further expanding of the advisory team, Jeremic is negotiating with very influential people from the U.S., China and an African country, but for now he does not want to reveal the names, a source told the daily. "A great team of young diplomats who have already worked with the UN will also be included and all of them will be on the payroll of their governments," the article states.
