Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says Russia presented Serbia's views on the situation in northern Kosovo at the UN Security Council session on Wednesday. “Serbia wants to know who gave the order to shoot at civilians and insists on the stand that no incident or violation of peace and stability can go unpunished by the UN Security Council,” the minister told the Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS). Russia presented Serbia's views, says FM Jeremic underscored that nowhere in Europe civilians were shot at, save for Serbia - in the part of its territory which is not under the authority of the government, according to UN Security Council Resolution 1244. “We will continue to pursue active policy and diplomacy and prevent attempts to be accused of something which obviously has nothing to do with the Serbian government,” the minister pointed out. “We made warnings, held several important meetings, including the UN Security Council sessions, where we cautioned about the fact that such developments could occur in the field,” he stressed. “Those who ignored all of our warnings, and first of all NATO, are fully responsible for what is now happening in the province,” Jeremic concluded.
