The report of Council of Europe (CoE) Rapporteur Dick Marty "must lead to an international investigation", says Dragoljub Micunovic. Serbian CoE delegation chief on Marty report The ruling Democratic Party (DS) official and head of the Serbian delegation which will take part in the work of the CoE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) during the week said the accusations in the report "indicated some horrific crimes committed in Kosovo involving outgoing Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Tachi, and to the existence of stronger international criminal connections". "We must avoid any politicization, and the members of Serbia's delegation should not act as if they were in the middle of the election campaign in Serbia, as Marty's report would push that to the background," Micunovic stated in an interview for the Belgrade-based daily Blic. He assessed that Marty's report will change the black-and-white image of the "good" so-called Kosovo Liberation Army and the "bad" Serbian police and create a different image of the Serbian-Albanian relations. Marty's report is to be adopted on January 25 by PACE, the highest European institution which deals with human rights protection, and the members of the Serbian parliament delegation have still not reached a full concurrence on what position they will take in Strasbourg, the paper reads. Micunovic stated that the delegation's task is to support the resolution and the request that the crimes be investigated. He warned that the debate should not be allowed to turn into a dispute between Serbia and Albania as it would politicize the whole idea on the investigation of the crimes.
